Race registration is LIVE

Registration is now LIVE on BikeReg.com. The link for registration is: https://www.bikereg.com/dwr-500km. Registration fees will go up on June 1st so sign up early for the best price. PRICE DOES NOT include the tracking service. Instructions for tracking service will be emailed out by June 1st. Expect fee of about $65 for the tracking rental and service fee. Service fee for non-rental tracking is obviously less, but I haven't gotten the final price structure yet from our tracking provider.

A few "whys" to answer here:

"Why is this year's event not free?" We wanted to re-invest our time, energy, and resources into sustaining this event. This requires a huge commitment and serious financial costs. Entry fees cover event insurance, belt buckles for sub 38 hour finishers, and other expenses.

"Why do we have to sign up for a separate tracking service with it's own fee?" Tracking riders is all about safety and it adds tremendous value for families of riders. It also helps keep the racer's honest and on course. Finally, tracking devices have an SOS function in the event you are injured outside of cell phone reception. It is common in events such as this.

"Why are you adding a relay to this event?" We believe the route is quite special, however, only a select few have completed it solo. Adding a relay is part of our plan to keep more people participating in the route so it remains a viable event for us to host. Also, having done relays similar to this in the past, we can say that these events are extremely fun and still very challenging for participants.

  1. Anyone able to give me a ride down to South Point? I live in Smithville, OH but I can meet up with you at Ashland Bike Co. Otherwise, I may just ride my bike down to South Point and start the ride from there. I would have to carry some camping gear and will end the ride back at Ashland and ride back to Smithville from there. I may do the Ohio to Erie Trail from Smithville to Cincinnati and back home. 500 miles round trip non-stop to get ready for DWR.
