DWR 2025 Race Info

The 2025 Dirty Water Route will be held on August 30th, 2025. Race registration is available at BikeReg.com. This year we're doubling down on our effort to make the official DWR race great again! We've brought back the finisher's belt buckle for sub 38 hour solo racers. In addition, we've added a whole new way to experience the route in the form of a relay! Racers on relay teams may compete with 2 to 4 individuals, men, women, and co-ed teams are allowed. Finally, to keep the race free for those that want to keep it totally frill-free, we have a solo tour option on our registration page. Read below for more information:

Tracking information: ALL participants must subscribe to the tracking service provided by Trackleaders. This service will be provided by Trackleaders and DWR does not receive any of the funds paid to the tracking company. Race registration fees are separate from the tracking service fee. All participants will receive an email with instructions for the tracking service following registration.

Solo Racer: Rider competing the race solo must complete to route self-supported with no outside support besides what is completely available to the public. That means self-supported solo riders must carry everything they need or purchase it along the way. Racers may not draft of other riders or have a sag car carrying their belongings they intend to use on the route.

Team Relay: Riders are part of a 2 to 4 person team. Team categories are MEN, WOMEN, and Co-Ed. The latter option must have at least one female participant. Relay team members must ride at least 2 segments. Teams may have more up to 3 riders on the segment at a time but they must ride together no more than 30 seconds apart. The final segment to Vermilion teams race with 4 members on the course so that they may complete the route together. Relay teams may draft off their own team members but may not draft off of other teams. They also may not assist other teams except in the event of emergency situations. Teams that violate the spirit of the rules may result in disqualification. It is recommended that teams have a driver for their team vehicle, and riders may have more than one bicycle on the team car. Teams must have the tracking device on the rider out on course. The tracking device serves as your "baton" at each segment exchange location. Segments are specific and race rules require riders to finish the segment they start. Failure to finish your segment for the team will result in disqualification.

Solo Tour: This is the "free" option for riders that simply want to try the route or ride at their own pace. This should be selected if you intend to finish outside of the 38 hour cutoff time. You will not receive any swag or other support. We ask you to please register for the race and for your safety we ask you to also sign up for the tracking service.

  1. Anyone able to give me a ride down to South Point? I live in Smithville, OH but I can meet up with you at Ashland Bike Co. Otherwise, I may just ride my bike down to South Point and start the ride from there.
